Modalert
(Modafinil, Provigil, Modapro) is used to help people who have narcolepsy to stay awake during the day.
Modalert increases wakefulness and daytime alertness in people who experience excessive sleepiness during the day, either due to narcolepsy, or due to a syndrome called obstructive sleep
apnoea. It can also be used to improve wakefulness and alertness in people who suffer moderate to severe sleep disorders as a result of chronic shift work. However, the medicine should not be used as a replacement for sleep and you should talk to your doctor about ways to try and maintain good sleep patterns.
Modalert
(Modafinil, Provigil, Modapro) described as a "wakefulness promoting
agent". It is sometimes prescribed off-label for ADD/ADHD. Modalert
is the drug for improving 'alertness' and reducing 'excessive daytime sleepiness'.
Modalert is indicated in the treatment of narcolepsy, obstructive sleep
apnea/hypopnea and shift work sleep disorder. In some countries, it is also approved for idiopathic
hypersomnia. Modalert is widely used off-label to supress the need for sleep. It is also used off-label in combatting general fatigue unrelated to lack of sleep, in treating ADHD, and as an adjunct to antidepressants (particularly in individuals with significant residual fatigue).
Modalert is more commonly known and prescribed as Modafinil. With a doctor's prescription, you can buy
Modalert with different commercial trade names: Modafinil,
Modapro, Provigil (USA), Vigicer (Canada), Sparlon, Alertec. Modalert is the cheapest
one. While Modalert is FDA-approved only for narcolepsy, OSAHS and
SWSD, many physicians are prescribing it for patients who do not suffer from one of these conditions but exhibit similar symptoms. |
